"Aliens in our own land": the 50th anniversary of the Tent Embassy
4:30am Fri 15 Apr
melbourne
About this session
In 1972, the Aboriginal Tent Embassy was set up on the lawns of Parliament in Canberra. The radical mood of the times and the confidence of the Aboriginal liberation movement were pushing back against the intense racism of Australian society. 50 years on, this high point of struggle is an inspiration to those who want to eradicate racism for good.
